Top family activities in Tenerife

For family action holidays Tenerife is one of the best places to take everyone. There’s something for everyone, and even the areas specifically set aside for young children are creatively built to be pleasant for adults too. Getting out and about, experiencing new things and seeing new things is all part of the fun when you’re on holiday, and kids enjoy having new experiences too. Parents sometimes worry about the safety of kid’s activities, but on Tenerife everything is very well supervised to provide maximum peace of mind for naturally concerned parents. Here are some of the most popular activities for parents and kids alike. Sawasdee in Siam Park We’ve mentioned some of the bigger water slides in Siam Park before, but did you know there is also a new area that specially for younger children? The rides here are smaller versions of the bigger slides, so they appeal to kids who’re always conscious of not being able to do the same thing as their bigger brothers or sisters. There are four different slides, a couple designed to test skill and dexterity, another mini water slide and a kid’s sized version of The Dragon. All just as exciting but on a more manageable scale to keep little ones safe. Loro Parque For colourful holidays Tenerife offers Loro Parque where you’ll find one of the most important collections of parrots anywhere. There are hundred of different species to delight young children with their bright colours and antics. You’ll also be able to see killer whale, sea lion and dolphin shows, and there are also alligators, chimps, big cats and more, as well as the world’s largest penguinarium where daily snowfalls mimic the penguins natural conditions. Camel riding Forget horse riding. For something that’s a bit different and is sure to give to kids something to tell their friends when they get home, why not give them the chance to ride on a camel at Camel Park, just a few minutes away from Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos. You even get to choose which camel you’ll ride on before setting off for a trek through the local area. It’s worth a visit even if you don’t want to ride on a camel, since there are also ducks, goats and chickens, rabbits, pigs and donkeys to see, along with a kids playground which will keep them occupied while you enjoy a drink in the cafe. For great holidays Tenerife has plenty of mini-adventures just waiting for families to discover and enjoy. It’s about so much more than beaches and sunbathing, although there’s plenty of that to be had too.
