Getting up off the beach and heading for a spa treatment is one of the best and most invigorating ways of relaxing when you’re on holiday in Tenerife. There are so many spa treatments available that it’s hard to know where to begin, but here’s a quick overview of a couple of the best places on the island to give you an idea of what’s on offer. Aqua Club Thermal In Costa Adeje, this huge complex of over 6,000 square metres has just about every spa treatment you could imagine and a fair few you’ve probably never heard of. You can take a thermal circuit of several of the treatments on offer which take around 2.5 hours, or alternatively you can pick and choose which treatments you’d like. The thermal circuit includes such hints as the hydro-massage swimming pool which is kept at a balmy 34 degrees and has jets for all areas of the body from the shoulders right down to the feet. There’s also a sea water relaxation pool which is even warmer at 34 degrees and a toning pool at 10 degrees. There are also treatment cabins where you can get a seaweed wrap, reflexology, hot stone massage and more. There are one day, weekend or week programmes to suit your schedule or needs. This is just the beginning, as there is also an Aqua Sports Fitness Centre with programmes to suit all levels of fitness and classing from spinning to pilates. There are other treatments too, plus you can get your hair done, have a manicure or pedicure, take advantage of the WiFi or have a bite to eat in the snack bar. Mare Nostrum Spa Maybe not as comprehensive as Aqua Club Thermal, the Mare Nostrum Spa is situated in the Mare Nostrum Resort in Playa de las Americas. The resort comprises five luxury hotels and you’ll find the spa in the Hotel Cleopatra Palace. The spa offers various treatments including a range of massages. They’ll even train you to give a baby massage. Specialist treatments include seaweed wraps and various mud wraps for an anti-inflammatory effect or to remove toxins and dead cells and other impurities. There are special programmes designed for both men and women which will leave both of you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. During a holiday in Tenerife, it’s tempting to spend all your time on the beach, in bars or shopping, but taking time out to experience a spa treatment will show you pampering like you’ve never seen it before.
